About Retro Snake Game
Step back in time to the classic era of mobile gaming with our faithful recreation of the original retro Snake game, built for modern web browsers. Inspired by the screen characteristics of classic handsets like the Nokia 3310, it sports a custom monochrome green screen aesthetic and CRT scanlines for an authentic nostalgic feel.
How to Play
- Arrow Keys / WASD: Control the direction of the snake (Up, Down, Left, Right).
- P: Pause or resume the game.
- Enter: Start a new game or restart when the game is over.
- Mobile Touch: Tap the on-screen control pad buttons (▲, ◄, ►, ▼) to direct your snake.
Rules of the Game
Guide the snake to eat the food (red dots) that appears on the board. Each food eaten increases your score by 10 points and makes the snake grow longer. It also slightly increases the game speed to keep the challenge going!
The game ends immediately if the snake crashes into any of the outer walls, runs into its own tail/body, or if the entire board becomes filled with the snake's body (winning condition).
